10-29 UCF at Houston 12:00pm

It wasn’t that long ago that most thought Houston might have a shot at getting into the College Football Playoff. Well, the Cougars have played more like kittens, losing  two out of their last 3 games.

Houston hasn’t been able to run it and their defense has been a sieve. Houston was pounded by SMU last Saturday losing 38-16. UCF’s freshman quarterback McKenzie Milton  threw for 317 yards and three touchdowns with no picks in the win over UConn. It was his best game as a Knight. UCF head coach Scott Frost is impressed with how his team is improving. This win will bring recognition to the Knights. Look out then, USF.

10-29 Florida vs Georgia in Jacksonville 3:30pm

The 5-1 Gators are in good shape in the SEC East.  The Dawgs are coming in off a one point loss to Vandy after a bye. Florida had a bye too last week, so both teams are rested and raring to go. It’s called the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party for a reason. The tailgate is one of a kind and Gators head coach Jim McElwain says he gets goose bumps just thinking about seeing one side of the stadium Gators fans and the other side Bulldogs fans. Gators quarterback Luke Del Rio back after an injury was shaky in the win over Missouri throwing three picks. Gators will go as their defense goes. The Dawgs have a formidable rushing attack in Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, but their freshman quarterback Jacob Eason won’t have a lot of time to get rid of the ball. This should be another Gators W.

10-29 Miami at Notre Dame 3:30pm

Miami cannot afford to lose this one. Notre Dame is 2-5 and head coach Brian Kelly is at a loss. He tried to change quarterbacks in the 17-10 loss to Stanford and that was in South Bend. The Canes are struggling as well. Miami has lost three games in a row. In the lost to Virginia Tech, Canes quarterback Brad Kaaya was sacked eight times. Canes need running backs Joe Yearby and Mark Walton to get going against the Irish defense. Expectations were high for Miami but it’ll be another year on not contending for the ACC Coastal division. Irish coach Brian Kelly is on the hotseat, while Mark Richt is only in his first year at Miami.

10-29 FSU hosts Clemson 8:00pm

On paper you’d figure Clemson will roll. The Tigers are 7-0 and are coming off a bye. I wouldn’t count out a Jimbo Fisher coached team and the Noles are home. Noles had a bye as well after being Wake forest 17-6 in Tallahassee. Clemson’s defense was suspect in their overtime win over NC State. Tigers also coughed it up four times. Don’t expect that again. Noles running back Dalvin Cook ran for 194 yards in their NC State win but most of them came in the first half. Don’t think it’ll be a blowout.
