9-24: USF hosts FSU, noon

Expect an angry FSU team coming off a 63-20 loss at Louisville. USF is 3-0 and is flying high. Willie Taggart's Bulls, if you go back to last season have won 10 of their last 12 games. USF hung 45 on Syracuse last Saturday with 28 unanswered points in the second quarter. The Bulls Gulf Coast offense led by quarterback Quinton Flowers can strike fast and don't think that's lost on FSU head Coach Jimbo Fisher. "Outstanding team, undefeated, averaging 50 points a game," Fisher said. "It'll be a heck of a challenge."  FSU's Heisman candidate, running back Dalvin Cook has yet to get going. Quarterback Deondre Francois was really good in their opener but just 7-of-18 passing for 101 yards in the loss.

9-24: UF at Tennessee, 3:30 p.m.

How long has it been since the Vols beat the Gators? Try the last time Tim Tebow as playing competitive baseball in high school. Florida has come out victorious 11 straight seasons. Respected prognosticator Phil Steele believes this is the year and Tennessee will win by two touchdowns. what we do know is the Gators are going with Austin Appleby at quarterback. They don't have a choice. Luke Del Rio is out, so look for Florida to try and establish a run game for awhile, unless the Gators get down by a lot, early. Florida's strength is defense. The Gators defense has only given up 14 points in three games. The Vols are led by quarterback Joshua Dobbs and running back Jalen Hurd. It all starts upfront and Tennesse's offensive and defensive lines have been bad.

9-24: UCF at FIU, 7 p.m.

This is the last non-conference game for UCF and head coach Scott Frost says a win over FIU would be hugh. He says to go into AAC play 2-2 would be a big boost.  UCF looked like world beaters in their opener 38-0 over South Carolina State. The Knights were trounced in the Big House by Michigan, but UCF took Maryland to double overtime before losing. Frost went with freshman quarterback McKenzie Milton against Maryland. Yes, Milton looked like a freshman but FIU's quarterback Alex McGough has yet to throw a touchdown. FIU does have a strong running back in Alex Gardner. Knights should be able to pull this one out.

Miami is on a bye.
