After a tough loss to the Florida State University Seminoles, the University of South Florida Bulls said they needed to get focused on offense and get their fire back on defense.  After an intense week of practice, head coach Willie Taggart said the fire and focus are back.

“I told our guys not to get too down over that game.  My thing with our guys is to make sure we make the necessary corrections so we don’t have another game like that.  We don’t have anything to get down about or necessarily worry about because we know the things we did are correctable.  The key is to make sure we get them corrected so we don’t do them again.  And, I think we’ve done that this week.  I think our guys are fired up and ready to go play”.

Bulls quarterback Quinton Flowers, who is a father to a newborn baby girl, said he has put the FSU game behind him and is focused on what is ahead both on and off the field.

“Having a daughter, that’s a blessing.  I just have to make sure I always protect her.  With me being a quarterback, I have to be consistent in everything I do.  You just have to focus on your next opponent.  That’s what this team is doing.  It’s a new beginning for us, a new season.  We just have to go out and focus on whoever we have next.  And that’s Cincinnati”.

Linebacker Auggie Sanchez says the Bulls are fired up because they know what's at stake against their conference foe.

“These are the games that truly matter.  So, yeah, I think we’ve done a pretty good job of flushing out the FSU game and getting back on schedule of what we want to accomplish.”
