Police said a box truck driver drove over the westbound lanes of the Coon Key Bridge and that the truck landed in the water.

The driver was OK and was removed from the truck after the Monday morning incident.

Police responded just before 10 a.m.

Patrol officers were directing traffic westbound over the John Ringling Causeway Bridge and Coon Key Bridge, and marine patrol officers were on the water working to assess how to remove the box truck.

The two westbound lanes of the Coon Key Bridge were down to one lane.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
