Transportation Security Administration officials made a shocking discovery Saturday at Richmond International Airport when they found a would-be passenger with a suicide vest, two guns and an old military manual.

The items turned out to be fake and for a live action role-playing game.

Still, TSA officials said the incident highlights the importance of screening at airports and more education to the public about what can and can't be brought on airplanes.

Meanwhile, Tampa International Airport officials say they have stopped 64 real guns going through security this year - and most of them were loaded.

Despite the TSA's efforts to inform the public, people still bring weapons to the airport, either by accident or purposefully. Among the items confiscated: guns, knives and brass knuckles.

The TSA is holding a news conference Tuesday to continue to get the word out about prohibited items, especially with the busy travel season ahead.

In addition to absolutely no weapons, there are still limits on all liquids you can carry on planes: 3.4 ounces and it still needs to be in a clear, resealable bag.

Airport officials say travelers confused about what they can and can't pack should call their specific airline before going to the airport.
