A 25-year-old Hillsborough man died in a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Brandon Douglas Collett was driving his Honda motorcycle eastbound on Boyette Road when the collision occurred.

According to reports, Collett drove in between two vehicles as he was approaching the intersection at Balm Riverview Road.

Another driver, Alisha Rae Gaffney, was traveling in a 2017 Nissan Rogue westbound. Gaffney, 36, attempted to make a left-hand turn but crossed into Collett’s path instead. The motorcyclist struck the passenger side of her vehicle.

Collett was ejected from his bike, authorities say, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing helmet.

According to investigator, Gaffney's admitted she had been drinking alcohol earlier. Charges are pending.
