Stambaugh Middle School eighth grader Alicia Huggins is one of eight students selected by Channel One for its election coverage. Channel One is a news show seen in thousands of schools.

"Words can't describe how much it means to me. It's a dream come true,” said Huggins about getting picked.

Huggins and the seven other students share their opinions about the presidential race. Half are for Donald Trump and half are for Hillary Clinton. Huggins supports Trump.

Huggins, who anchors her school's news show and hopes to someday be a TV news personality, also writes a blog for the Channel One website. She said it is an exciting election to cover.

"When Obama and them were running it wasn't as crazy as when you go to a campaign. People can start a riot if they don't like the person that you are voting for,” said Huggins.

After the presidential debates, the students share their opinions in videos they record on their cell phones.

Huggins is learning what it’s like to share her opinion with millions of students. One place she gets feedback from is at school.

"I'll come to school and kids will be like, 'Why are you voting for him? Like, you are a disgrace to America." And I'll have kids going 'Go for it! You are doing an amazing job!'” she said.
