Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4256 conducted a wreath ceremony at the John's Pass Bridge today in remembrance of the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The event was conducted by Post Commander Ronald Mills and was attended by US military veterans, post auxiliary members and the public.  

Mills and the participants made the short walk from the post headquarters to the John’s Pass Bridge where a US Navy veteran dropped a ceremonial wreath into the water.   

Prior to the wreath being dropped, Mills told participants, “It’s our job to teach today’s generation of the importance of Pearl Harbor Day and what it means to our freedom.” 

Pearl Harbor Day memorializes the 2,403 Americans killed during the surprise Japanese assault on the Hawaiian island on December 7, 1941.
