The Lakeland Yacht and Country Club may be getting a makeover.
- Lakeland Yacht and Country Club may do away with its old building
- Club is looking for something newer, less expensive
- Club is getting negative feedback from Lakeland historical advocates
According to The (Lakeland) Ledger, the club may be doing away with its 92-year-old building. They are looking for something newer and less expensive.
The club though about renovating the building, but that would have exceeded their $6 million budget.
However, they are getting some negative feedback. Lakeland's historical advocates are opposed to tearing it down, calling the building a piece of history.
Those with the country club say they plan to make the new building look similar to the old one.
