  • Accused of using league money on themselves

Heidi Goocher was president of Inverness Little League until she was voted out in 2015. Investigators say she used two league debit cards and spent close to $7,000 of league money.

According to her arrest report, Goocher used the debit cards to pay her water bills, cell phone bills, she shopped on Amazon, purchased gas and a lot more.

“Of course I was a little upset at the situation, but we have to move forward,” said current league president Chris Lewis. “You can't dwell on the past."

It doesn't stop there. Deputies say a former treasurer by the name of Zora Gregory has also been arrested for using a league debit card to pay for homeowners insurance and more. Deputies say Gregory is also a former corrections officer.

Brian Sullivan is a Little League parent and he was not happy when he found out what was going on.

“It is unfortunate that it happened but thankful justice is being served and truth is being carried out and our kids will have a safe place to play,” Sullivan said.

Lewis noticed there was something wrong and got the investigation going. He said measures have been put in place to keep something like this from happening again.

Goocher and Gregory were arrested by the sheriff’s office on charges that include grand theft.
