Emergency Management officals began receiving reports of damage at around 2:30 p.m. after heavy rain and wind hit the area.

When officials arrived, they found seven homes with some structural damage.

“We were sitting in the living room watching TV and it went off and we heard a loud bang, said homeowner Gary VanDierendonk.  “I thought it was lightning.”

When VanDierendonk looked outside, he saw that a portion of his neighbor’s shed had flown over the fence and landed in his backyard.

Across the street, a shed hit the front of a home and caused a hole in the roof.

Most of the damage was downed trees, emergency management officials said.

No injuries were reported.
