The tropical wave located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles has an elongated and poorly defined circulation. The system remains disorganized.

Atmospheric conditions are not favorable for development for the next few days while the system moves west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph near the northern Leeward Islands and the Greater Antilles.

Conditions could become more favorable later this week while the system moves near the southeastern and central Bahamas. At this time, it should greatly slow down and could strengthen over the warm waters of the Bahamas.

Most, but not all, computer models show this system eventually becoming a threat to Florida over the weekend or early next week. It's just too early to know for sure - it will be several days before this system really develops.

Floridians should closely monitor the progress of this system over the next few days.

Another Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate this disturbance Wednesday.
