A 26-year-old Bradenton man was killed in a Tuesday morning crash, acording to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Richard Thomas Sconyers was driving a 2002 Suzuki when the crash occurred about 5:50 a.m.

Troopers said a vehicle driven by Russell Owens, 65, of Bradenton, was traveling west on 53rd Avenue East approaching the intersection at 22nd Street Ct East. Owens made a left turn to go south on 22nd Street Ct East and traveled into the path of Sconyers' vehicle, the FHP patrol said.

Sconyers' vehicle hit the right side of Owens' vehicle.

Owens was charged with failing to yield to approaching traffic, troopers said.

Traffic was affected in the area for about four hours.
