A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident happened along 301 Boulevard East, just east of 9th Street East at about 2 a.m.
According to troopers, a Kia Optima driven by Juana Orozco, 21, was traveling west. An unidentified man with a wheelchair was in the westbound lane. Orozco failed to see the 62-year-old man, troopers say, and struck him with the front side of her car.
The man died at the scene.
Orozco and the two passengers inside the vehicle were not injured, troopers say.
