Earlier this summer, Pinellas County repaved a section of 62nd Avenue North from 4th Street North though 16th Street North.
- New through lane width is 10 feet
- Turn lane reduced to 11 feet
- Project completed after Bay News 9 report
Jim Watters drives his motor home on the road and noticed the width of the lanes was not consistent — and certainly not as wide as before the repaving project.
Bay News 9 measured the lanes and found the turn lane to be 13 feet wide and the two through lanes 9 feet wide. The average lane width is 12 feet.
Tom Washburn, with Pinellas County Traffic Engineering, reported the lanes would be restriped in a more uniform fashion.
As of this week, that project is complete. Bay News 9 confirms the new through lane width to be 10 feet and the turn lane has been reduced to 11 feet.
