Here's what you need to know about Tampa Bay area weather for the overnight hours heading into Saturday.

  • Mostly clear skies Saturday morning
  • Not much rain this weekend
  • Highs in the low 90s Saturday

Drier air moved in as expected pushing most of the storms to the south of our area. Expect mostly clear skies into the morning with a nice breeze from the northwest.

Morning lows will be in the low 70s north, mid 70s inland, and upper 70s at the coast.

The drier air will still dominate the first part of this weekend, so don’t expect many storms.

Saturday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with only a ten percent chance of a shower or storm. If one develops near you, it will tend to move eastward into the inland areas through the afternoon.

Highs will be in the low 90s. Saturday night will be partly cloudy to mostly clear, with lows in the mid 70s.

In the tropics:

Tropical Storm Karl is east of Florida over the Atlantic and continues to strengthen. It could become a hurricane soon. Karl could threaten Bermuda before it moves out to sea.  Lisa continues to weaken over open waters due to strong wind shear.

A tropical wave located southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands is expected to move rapidly westward across the tropical Atlantic Ocean at 20 to 25 mph for the next several days.  We expect some gradual development while the system approaches the Lesser Antilles next week.
