The Little Dress Ministry at First Methodist Church of Clearwater makes dresses to send to girls in need in Honduras and Haiti.

Parishioner Alana Holloway started the ministry after reading an article about a woman who made dresses for mission trips.

"I told my husband I wanted to be that lady,” Holloway said.

Holloway started making dresses on her own. Soon, other women from the church got involved.

"Anytime a ministry comes directly from one person and starts to grow, that's the kind of ministry that just grows and grows and fills the needs of people,” Pastor Daphne Johnson said.

The Little Dress Ministry started with sending dresses to Honduras. Now, its members are making 100 more to send to Haiti on Oct. 22.

"It just gives them such a sense of love and compassion,” Holloway said.

The church will bless the dresses before they are sent to Haiti.
