  • David Biddle, 50, was charged on Sept. 30
  • Deputies said he left his wallet at a barn he burglarized

Investigators found a wallet holding David Biddle’s I.D. at the scene Thursday, hours after the alleged theft took place. The personal item was reportedly located sitting on the roof of a nearby vehicle.

The barn, deputies said, is centered on a 150-acre plot of land belonging to Sen. Wilton Simpson. No one was injured, but approximately $600 worth of equipment was taken.

When deputies visited Biddle’s last known address, they say they found a chainsaw and leaf blower believed to belong to Simpson.

Biddle denied the charges, according to authorities, but was arrested nonetheless. He’s being held at the Pasco County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
