There's a school in Polk County that's gone positively batty.

Bats have descended on the music building at Haines City High School, and the winged mammals are apparently making quite a mess.
"When it's in the classroom, it gets scary because you don't know what they're going to do," said junior Madison Jones. "They get scared when you put the light on."
The school said most of the bats are in the rafters above the dropped ceiling.
"Sometimes in first period, you could go into the classroom and there would be a bat flying around at the top," Jones said.
The music building has two classrooms, one band room, one chorus room and a practice room. One student said it was hard to even describe the sounds coming from the bats.
Students are being relocated to other areas in the school until things are taken care of. It's not the first time Haines has had the problem.
The school dealt with bats in January and February. That work was handled in house, but the school district said this time they are going to contract a company to come in and get rid of the bats and help clean up the mess.
The district said it will cost about $13,000 to get rid of the bats, clean the rooms and replace the floors and ceilings.
It could take at least two weeks to complete all the work.
