The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Teresa Thomas, 50, was sleeping at a home at a Lacoochee trailer park when she was struck in the head with a bullet by an unknown gunman.

Deputies were called out to the area around 2:41 a.m. Monday, January 16.

Deputies believe the shooter was outside the home.

Officials said this is the same trailer park where a man was shot in the head last week, but do not believe the two incidents are related.

Thomas was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, officials said. She has since been released and is recovering.

Officials said Thomas and her boyfriend live in Perry, Florida, not at the home where she was shot.

According to the report, their are no significant leads on a suspect at this time.
