Aggravated manslaughter charges have been dropped against a Hillsborough County firefighter in the death of his own son.

Troy Whitaker was charged for leaving his son in a hot car in September 2016.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Whitaker was supposed to drop off his son at daycare in the morning, but forgot.
The 23-month-old was left inside a hot car that morning, and eight hours later, Whitaker found Lawson dead inside his truck.
The state's attorney's office said the facts and circumstances of the case don't warrant prosecution at this time.
