One person was killed, and another injured, when a vehicle collided with a Tampa Police vehicle.

The crash happened about 12:15 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 41.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Jordan Garrett, 19, died at the scene.

According to authorities, a vehicle driven by Ashlyn Price, 18, was traveling southbound on U.S. 41 and failed to stop for a red traffic signal.

The vehicle collided with a Tampa Police vehicle that was going through the intersection.

Garrett was a passenger in Price's vehicle. Price was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The officer suffered minor injuries, according to FHP.

The crash is still under investigation.
