Want to pay your electric bill while riding a bike? It's possible.

Adam Balkin learned about the Freedom Cycle while at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

It's only a few weeks old and, in Balkin's words, "super hard" to pedal. But it works for you while you work off the sweat.

"We built magnetic levitation into the front wheel, so what it's doing is it's generating electricity that can be used to take your house, business, whatever off the grid," said Brent Skoda of Ahkeo Labs.

"So if you want those bragging rights, you get this thing and you start riding."

You're essentially feeding back into your own grid and paying your electric bill while you're riding your bike.

"And if you generate excess, you get to keep half; the upside, we keep half of it and sell it on your behalf. We all make money," Skoda said.

The company says the bike also has the ability to become a Wi-Fi hotspot.
