Faithful Detroit Tigers fans filed into Joker Marchant Stadium for a look at new renovations.

  • Joker Marchant Stadium underwent renovations
  • New scoreboard, patio areas added
  • Playground added for children

Upgrades include a new HD scoreboard, more shade for fans around the stadium, new patio areas, and a new sound system, among others.

Ninety year-old Thelma Fuson, a life-long Tigers fan, says the $48 million project was worth every penny.

"Everything I see is great. I just can't believe they've done such a wonderful job," said Fuson.

Fuson moved to Florida in part to be close to her beloved Tigers, so she appreciates anything that makes her game day experience better.

The stadium also boasts more hospitality areas with new seating and bars. There are also more box seats, along with the new 34 Club, an upscale experience where you can take in the game in the air conditioning.

It will also be easier for fans to make their way around the field with a new walkway connecting both sides.

Kids will also get to explore a new playground including inflatable toys on game days.
