The small plane that went missing after leaving Brooksville Feb. 12 has been recovered from the Gulf of Mexico.

Crews also located the body of a passenger on the plane, 60-year-old Hue Singletary, pilot Jasper Jerrels’ fiancée.

According to the Levy County Sheriff's Office, the Cherokee Piper single engine plane was found late Sunday in 10 to 12 feet of water about seven miles off the coast of Cedar Key.

Singletary's body was found Sunday in the same area. Jerrels' body was previously recovered. Authorities said they will continue searching for the body of Jerrels' 17-year-old son Dylan.

The plane was heavily damaged in the crash. Officials said the largest piece that remained intact was about 10 feet long. The wreckage is being taken to a facility in Jacksonville as part of the National Transportation Safety Board investigation into the crash.

The plane was reported missing after taking off from Brooksville but never reaching its destination in Cedar Key, just 88 miles away.

The trio was headed to Cedar Key for lunch and did not file a flight plan. Authorities said the flight last had radar contact about seven miles south of its destination.

Crews had previously suspended their search after searching by air and in the gulf for several days last week.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
