Dozens of riders will take to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Sunday to honor the life of Phoebe Jonchuck.

Phoebe was the young victim of one of the Bay area's most shocking crimes.

The 5-year-old was thrown off the Dick Misener Bridge by her father, Jon Jonchuck, on Jan. 8, 2015.

A St. Petersburg police officer spotted a car speeding toward the Misener Bridge and pull over. The officer witnessed Jonchuck carry his daughter to the edge of the bridge and drop her into the water.

Sunday is the 3rd annual Phoebe Jonchuck Memorial Ride. Bikers will gather at Wild Willy's on Belcher Road in Largo at noon.

From there they will travel to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to place flowers and say a prayer.

The group is also raising money for a scholarship named after Phoebe. Riders will return to Wild Willy's for an all-ages scholarship benefit party featuring live music, food, and more. All proceeds from the benefit will go to the scholarship fund in honor of Phoebe Jonchuck.

Last January, doctors found Jon Jonchuck competent to stand trial. However, a judge still has to decide if that will happen.

If it does, prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
