A Sarasota high-rise worker was rescued Monday afternoon after a scaffolding malfunction.

Sarasota Fire Rescue rushed to the Echelon on Palm building at 624 South Palm Ave to rescue a worker after one side of a scaffolding cable snapped, leaving the platform swaying 10 stories above the ground.

Two workers were able to scramble off the scaffolding and enter an open window in the under construction building.

The third worker remained trapped on the scaffolding but was connected to a safety harness and line. 

Firefighters were able to safely pull him back into the building. 

There were no injuries. 

Officials are trying to determine what caused the malfunction.
