A 24-year-old Largo man engaged in inappropriate online conversations with an undercover detective who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, police say.

The Largo Police Department began investigating Michael Douglas Ludwig in early August over posts made on a social media networking site soliciting sexual contact from school-aged girls.
The posts specifically depicted Ludwig's desire to engage in a "rape fantasy with young schoolgirls," investigators said. Det. Lance Moore responded to a post, posing as a middle school-aged girl. Moore said he indicated several times throughout the conversation that Ludwig was chatting with a 14-year-old girl, the report stated.
Officials said Ludwig became more aggressive and agitated as the conversation continued. He even threatened "the young girl," which was actually Moore, and told her to sneak out of her house stating, "You're going to sneak out later tonight do you hear me little b****."
According to a police report, Ludwig also texted the "minor" saying, "You should listen to me b****..... I'm going to rape you."
During the weeks of communication, officials said Ludwig sent naked and clothes pictures of himself to Moore.
On Wednesday, Ludwig arrived at a residential location in Largo to meet up with who he thought was the girl, intending to have sex with or rape the "minor child," police said. Ludwig was arrested, and he made a full post-Miranda confession, according to investigators.
Police said they also found a small amount of narcotics in his vehicle.
Ludwig is charged with four counts use of a computer to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice a child; one count of traveling to meet a minor; one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device; one count of transmission of harmful material to a minor; and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
