“Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” is scheduled to open at Universal Studios Florida next spring. Until then, Universal Orlando is releasing new details about what riders can expect from its latest attraction.

  • New Jimmy Fallon attraction to open next spring
  • Guests get to visit Studio 6B for live performance and "Tonight Show" bits
  • Riders will race through NYC, passing iconic landmarks

According to the park’s official blog, “audience members” will arrive at Studio 6B for a live performance from the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet. They will also be able to enjoy classic bits from the “Tonight Show” like History of Rap and Lip Sync Battle.  You'll also be able to send a personalized Thank You note and play host at your very own Interactive Desk.

While in Studio 6B, guests can also watch clips from the show and “prep” for the ride with a “Jimmy Drive” video game.

Following a briefing in Studio 6B, the ride begins. Audience members board what Universal is calling the “world's first-ever flying theater.” It will hold up to 72 people. Riders will then race through the streets of New York City, zooming past several landmarks. Universal promises plenty of twists and turns—and a few “Tonight Show” cameos—along the way.

Grammy award-winning band The Roots created the music featured in the attraction.

The new attraction will include a little "Tonight Show" history. Guests can see real set pieces from the long-running talk show, including NBC video cameras, desk props and suits from past hosts.

In addition to the details about the ride, Universal released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.”  Watch it below.

“Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” takes the place of Twister: Ride It Out, which closed in 2015.
