A Walt Disney World Ambassador is known for poise, charm, and TV-ready sound bites. As you can imagine, representing one of the most well-known brands on the planet requires an unthinkable level of constantly-evolving Disney-knowledge.

Ken Facey and Brandon Peters have just earned themselves that title for the next two years.

  • Pair have been tapped as new Disney World Ambassadors
  • They represent 74,000 cast members to media
  • Men want to 'celebrate amazing work' of cast members

The men endured an intensive two-month application process along with hundreds of hopefuls. Their appointment means that through 2018, they're the representatives of the resort's 74,000 cast members.

"We want to be able to tell their stories," Peters said. "We want to be able to celebrate the amazing work that they do each and every day."

"I know, for the next two years, we're going to have to be extremely flexible because our business is flexible," Facey added. "The magic goes on 24-hours, seven days a week."

The "ambassador" role was created almost 50 years ago.

"Walt [Disney] was so busy for all of the requests for media that he actually created this role," Peters explained. "When I think about doing my best to be a representative of our resort, I try to think about doing my best to be a representative of Walt."

They've both been Disney cast members for 10 years, doing everything from acting to custodial guest services. They've been hooked since they were little tots.

"I was freaking out," Facey smiled, showing us an old school photo of his first Disney vacation.

Both men are married, and Peters started that chapter at the theme park.

"I popped the question during Wishes fireworks," he said, glowing. "So right there — with the castle in the background... Yes, I'd probably say my first obsession is my wife. I love her so much. I do. So the second one would probably be Disney."

Their faces are the ones you'll see on News 13 and Bay News 9. Part of their job is to field our questions on attractions, shows and heritage, topics they need to know more than anyone else.

"I just store it away in a filebook somewhere up here," Facey said, double-pointing* at his brain. "When it calls upon time, I just pick it out."

*Fun fact: You'll notice that no Disney cast member points with one finger. It's always two.

Facey and Peters officially take over for Nathanial Palma and Caitlin Busscher on Jan. 1, 2017.
