Universal Orlando announced a new hotel Monday, expanding the resort's collection of rooms.

  • Sixth Universal hotel, Aventura Hotel
  • Modern-style, value-priced hotel
  • Opens in summer 2016

Aventura Hotel will be a 16-story glass tower with floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms, a food hall, a rooftop bar and pool area.

The hotel will be the second "value" priced option at Universal, on par with Cabana Bay Resort. While Cabana Bay invokes the 1960s, Aventura is meant to be more modern.

The hotel will be built in the area where recently-opened Sapphire Falls Resort and the soon-to-open Volcano Bay water park are located.

Aventura Hotel will open in the summer of 2018.
