Disney and Star Wars fans crowded around Spaceship Earth at Epcot Monday night to celebrate the release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and get updates on new Star Wars experiences coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The highlight of the after-hours event was the transformation of Spaceship Earth into the Death Star.

Many Disney fans freaked out over the news, but they can rest easy — it’s only for one night.

Disney also shared updates about Star Wars experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Star Tours ride will go back to its random location format. And a planet that's featured in Episode 8 will show up on the ride next year.

"Rogue One" elements will also show up in other Star Wars attractions, including the new deathtroopers in the "Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away" show and new props in the Star Wars Launch Bay.

Additionally, the "Star Wars a Galactic Spectacular" projection and fireworks show will return nightly starting Dec. 16.

Adding to the fun, actor Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Galen Erso in the new film, came on stage to introduce a never-before-seen scene and answer a few questions.
