Retail giant Target has gotten rid of their kid-sized shopping carts after backlash on social media.

  • Target had started to roll out kiddie shopping carts
  • Some moms criticized them on social media
  • Target removed mini carts after complaints

Target introduced the mini carts in several stores last year.

But the rollout test quickly failed, according to a report on CNN Money.

Laura Rinas, a Minneapolis mom blogger, called them a "vehicle of mass destruction" and started the "Moms Against Stupid Tiny Carts" movement.

Other shoppers joined in, complaining about bruised ankles and chaotic children.

Target removed the carts because of the repeated complaints and is trying to figure out what to do with them, a company spokeswoman told CNN Money.

"Yes: So glad those demon mini carts are gone from Target," Sally Nankivell said in a tweet. "Their drivers were a menace."
