It’s the end of an era for Florida’s oldest water park. Wet’ N Wild closed its doors permanently on Saturday.

People braved the cold weather to say goodbye to the Orlando icon and enjoy one last splash.
In 2015, Universal Orlando announced it would shut down the water park at the end of 2016. Universal hopes fans would instead go to its new water Volcano Bay, which is expected to open later this year.
For many die-hard fans, the closure was a bittersweet moment.
“We’re looking forward to the new park, but we are hoping they might take at least a few of the slides over with them,” said Jason Fisher. “We really love this place.”
More than 1 million people visited Wet ‘n Wild each year, making it the fourth most popular in the U.S.
