A grand opening date has been set for the new Guardians of the Galaxy-themed attraction at Disney California Adventure.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout opens May 27, Disneyland announced Wednesday.

The attraction, which replaces the popular Tower of Terror, will kick off Disney’s “Summer of Heroes” at the park.

“It’s going to be a thrilling summer at the Disneyland Resort,” said David Duffy, director of creative entertainment in a press release. “You can celebrate the arrival of Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission Breakout and join forces with legendary Super Heroes.”

Using the existing building, the attraction will take riders into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” story. Riders will help Rocket break his buddies out of the Collector’s Fortress.

Mission: Breakout will include randomized ride experiences, new visual and audio effects, and music inspired by the film’s soundtrack.

Additional ongoing Marvel experiences set to launch with the Summer of Heroes campaign include Guardians of the Galaxy dance party, Avengers Training Initiative and encounters with Groot, Captain America and Spider-Man.

For a limited time, park goers will have a chance to also meet Black Widow, who will appear several times throughout the day.

Summer of Heroes runs May 27 to Sept. 10.

Several classic Disney experiences set to return to Disneyland Resort.  Visitors can look forward to the reopening of the Disneyland Railroad, the return of Fantasmic! and the Main Street Electrical Parade.
