A new astronaut exhibit has touched down at the Orlando Science Center.

The traveling astronaut experience has 26 ways for you to interact and to perhaps get to know astronauts more intimately than you'd like.

"I've learned that it's serious business when you're making your business in outer space," said Jeff Stanford with Orlando Science Center, showing off the model of an astronaut toilet.

"Everbody's got to go and we certainly don't want a big ol' mess up there."

Helicopter, race cars, you name it. Simulators are everywhere. But, what about one that lets you prepare for launch into outer space?

For the first time ever, Tara Miller of Dunedin got to imagine what it'd feel like - to blast off.

"It kind of gives you a shock," Tara said. "I jumped a little bit. It scared me at first because I didn't expect it."

"Really normal things become really complicated in space."

Try to imagine making repairs with big cumbersome gloves, or, trying to hold down your "planet fruit puree" in a G-Force Human Centrifuge.

"They have a simulation where you can spin yourself in circles to kind of feel like what it's like gravity pulling on you," said Tara.

"I think that everybody at one time in their life wants to be an astronaut - to go up and see what it's like," said Connie Devriendt from Michigan.

"It's a good experience for people to come down and see what astronauts have to do to kind of train and prepare themselves to be up there, for us to explore what's out there," Tara said of the exhibit.

Astronaut runs from now until May 14 at the Orlando Science Center on Princeton Street. Admission is $19.99, children 3-11 are $13.95. There are discounts for senior citizens and students. Parking is $5.

Directions and hours of operation are available on the Orlando Science Center website.

This Saturday night also happens to be Science Night Live, a chance for adults ONLY to experience the science center.

The night includes live shows, a chance to see the stars with the giant refractor telescope in the Crosby Observatory and more.

We just checked and tickets ARE still available for $15.95.

So grown-ups, you can leave the kiddos at home while you blast off into space.
