It’s going to be a busy weekend at Walt Disney World.

  • Disney Princess Half Marathon: Feb. 23-26
  • More than 37,000 participants in 2016
  • Top women-specific endurance event in the U.S.

Thousands of people are in town for one of runDisney’s biggest racing events: The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

The four-day long event includes the Princess 5K on Friday, the Enchanted 10K on Saturday, children’s races on both Friday and Saturday and the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday.

Many participants dress as their favorite Disney characters. In years past, Elsa, Ariel and, of, course, Cinderella have been popular choices.

The 13.1-mile course for the Princess Half Marathon runs through both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.

Along the way, runners can stop for a quick photo-op with some of their favorite Disney characters.

In addition to the races, runners can enjoy a health and fitness expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the entire weekend.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon is one of the largest women-specific endurance events in the country.

In 2016, the races had more than 37,000 participants, 89 percent of them were female.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend runs Feb. 23-26.

Two more runDisney races are scheduled at Disney World this year—Star Wars Half Marathon-The Dark Side (April 20-23) and Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon (Nov. 2-5).
