For 20 years, fans have been going to Atlanta Braves Spring Training at ESPN Wide World of Sports. But it's more than a ballgame. It has turned into an interactive player experience.

"This is my first time doing it, so I like it a lot," said Christian Alrich, 13, of Apopka. "I could just stay on baseball fields all day."

Aldrich's family treated him to the on-field experience, a special ticketed option letting fans meet 'n' mingle with their favorite players on the field - literally. This means autographs and selfies.

"When I was a kid, I didn't have the opportunity to come out here, sit down, and be on the field with the players," said James Arnett, of Tavares.

Mandy Halvin and her kids came down from Mississippi to watch the Braves play the Cardinals.

"I hope that they continue to enjoy this forever," she said, adding that a big highlight is watching her boys run the bases. The tradition stands that after the last out, kids of all ages can run the bases.

Gates open two hours prior to first pitch. For some, that's reason enough to load up on the grub - including (and new this year!) - the Cuban sandwich and nachos. And of course, the beer is flowing. A spokesperson says that they'll often bring in a craft beer that's popular with the opposing team's city.

The Braves play the Red Sox this Friday, March. 3 at 1:05 p.m. and then the Marlins the next day (March 4), also at 1:05 p.m.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training goes through March 29. Individual game ticket prices vary by opponent, but they're usually $15 to $60. General parking is complimentary. Valet parking will be available for $20.
