"Under the Radar" is a web series dedicated to featuring 10 of the Bay area's most underrated football players. This is the third in our 10-part series.

There's a long lineage of great running backs to come through Tampa Bay Tech.

Recently, Cludner Lecount and Maurice Hagens, just to name a few. Make room for a new name, Deon Thompson.

"He really has the opportunity to really carve his name to be one of the top backs to ever come through Tech," Titans head coach Jayson Roberts said.

The 2014 RB won't be under the radar for long, according to Roberts.

He's never played a down of JV football in his life. From the minute he stepped on the field, the coaches knew they had found greatness. He started the final three games of the 2009 season as a ninth grader.

Thompson injured his hamstring before the Titans' blue and white game this spring, which slowed down his recruiting. However, that doesn't mean teams haven't been hot on his tail. Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Miami and Cincinnati are showing interested in Thompson, but there's one school that is in the lead.
