More red-light cameras are coming to Brooksville, according to city leaders.

Three intersections in Brooksville already have red-light cameras. Three more intersections in the city are getting them, including State Road 50 and Buck Hope Road.

As soon as they're up and running, there will be a total of six intersections around the city with cameras.

Ed Beaupre, a truck driver, said putting up more is a bad idea.

"They distract other drivers when they are driving down the road because they are flashing and making people look away from where they should be looking and it will create more problems," Beaupre said.

City officials expect the red-light cameras to go up in the next few weeks. They say the cameras are in boxes and ready to be set up. They're just waiting on the company that runs the cameras to install them.
